JEM Technical is proud to be ISO 9001 registered, originally achieved in October 2003. Today our quality policy is to manufacture and distribute fluid power products, custom valves, valve packages and controls that fully meet customers’ needs and expectations at a reasonable price. This is practiced throughout the organization and continues to fuel our growth in many new and exciting ways.
But JEM Technical comes from much humbler beginnings.
Originally named JEM Technical Marketing Co., Inc., the company was founded in 1984 at the kitchen table of John and Sheryl Menge. We began as manufacturers’ representatives, marketing fluid power products in the Upper Midwest, with an emphasis on hydraulic valves.
In 1986 we moved into distributing fluid power products as well as adding several instrumentation lines. With the additional product lines and the need for more warehouse space, we moved to a location in Long Lake, Minnesota.
1989 - 1995
In 1989 JEM Technical was incorporated and saw another opportunity to expand our offering toward design of custom valves and valve packages. And in 1995 we moved into the manufacturing sector. The company was on its way to providing the Midwest’s leading OEM customers with quality valve and control packages.
2010 - Today
In 2010 we opened a warehouse in Watertown, South Dakota. In 2012 we established JEM Technical Canada, a branch based in Winnipeg Canada. The office serves our customers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. In 2014 we added JEM Controls to provide customized electronics control capabilities. Most recently, in 2018, we launched the FastLine division which is focused on common valve assemblies that can be delivered to the customer within 24 hours of order placement.

Since 1984, JEM Technical has earned a solid reputation and gained recognition in the Midwest as a quality distributor and manufacturer of custom engineered valves, manifolds and electronics controls. Today, customers through North America rely on 35+ years of dependable engineering and business experience to help them design and build equipment with extremely robust fluid power systems. Our current facilities, located in Orono, Minnesota, feature over 75,000 square feet dedicated to state-of-the-art machinery and quality assembly, meeting ISO 9001 requirements.
